Kain Tayo! is a kitchen textiles line that embraces Filipino culture and its traditional cuisine. My background as a food illustrator in addition to my desire to learn about various cultural experiences has led me to create this body of work. This project embraces cultural diversity by showcasing surface designs inspired by my own Filipino heritage. My goal was to celebrate cultural pride, highlight ethnic inclusivity, and spark creativity in the kitchen. The set features an apron, kitchen towels, oven mitts, and a pot holder that have all been hand-printed with relief printmaking techniques and then hand-sewn together.
